A Snowy Halloween

A sudden overnight snowfall in Massachusetts didn’t stop Tim and Lauren from being amazing sports, braving the icy ground and freezing temperatures to frolic for wintery photos.  They quickly adapted, setting up heaters for the guests to make it comfortably through the ceremony and Lauren tossing aside her sandals for Ugg boots.  Here’s a few of our favorite frosty shots….

The Pastures of Hobbit Hollow

The Finger Lakes: rolling fields; horse barns; autumn light; postcard-worthy beauty. Ali and Damien: dear friends (Ali and I go back to the high school volleyball courts); perfect for each other; disgustingly handsome, both together and apart; easy breezy and low maintenance; basking in love.  This wedding was pure happiness for me, on so many levels.  The only thing that would have made this wedding at Hobbit Hollow Farm better would have been hobbits. (talk about false advertising)

Down on the Waterfront

We are super psyched to shoot Grace and Rich’s wedding next week.  And in anticipation, we’re posting a few images from our engagement shoot with them down by the Greenpoint waterfront. Their spiffy clean style made for a kick-ass contrast to the grunge of the broken down warehouses and old piers.

Summer at Blue Hill Farm

These guys were adorably humble, very low-maintenance, and utterly head-over-heels for each other.  A five-minute ceremony and amazing farm-grown food right at the place of origin (Blue Hill at Stone Barns) made for a quaintly stunning, if not sweltering, summer evening.  This is a small handful of favorites…

Dara and Jesse

Dara and Jesse’s country wedding at the Full Moon Resort in Big Indian, NY was incredibly cute. The combination of design simplicity and casual elegance jived well with the mountainside setting. And the two lovebirds had such genuine smiles the whole time, I bet their faces hurt at the end of the day!

Vanessa and Andrew

This dynamic duo was gorgeous with a capital G, and their small, simple wedding was the perfect seamless blend of low-key elegance and quirky antique glam.

Man + Woman = Alex and Xan

October 9, 2010 in Youngstown Ohio

There’s something special about a couple that shares a passion.  And it’s rare to make that passion into a career.   Alex and Xan (who even share a name- Alexander and Alexandra) are an adorable artistic duo. Dancers who fell in love while studying the craft in school, and now own a company together.

From their company dancers who performed down the aisle, to their nostalgic vintage style (Xan donned her mother’s beautiful dress while Alex rocked an old-school tailcoat), the entire day was a blend of timeless class and complete unpretentious fun.

Then there was the clincher- Alex and Xan’s “first dance,” which was a performance of their collaboratively choreographed piece entitled “Man Plus Woman.”  The dance was loaded with details and references that made us melt into a teary mess. It was performed to a musician friend’s score who accompanied them live for the first time ever.  The two began choreographing it as friends and fell in love along the way. The piece is playfully filled with numerous references to things in both families’ romantic pasts (for example, the fact that Xan’s grandparents met in a revolving door is referenced in a long slow circling around each other).  And, of course, it’s about a man and a woman falling in love.  The dance, much like the love and story of these two people, embodies the kind of perfection that makes you believe in destiny.
